- Berths in the boat park will be numbered and allocated to Members by the Committee. Boats parked therein may either be on launching trolleys or chocks: when the latter, the launching trolley must be stowed within or on the boat and the road trailer removed from the Lake compound and car park.
- All personal or boat gear left at the Lake must be stowed inside the boat, and not left loose.
- Those taking picnic meals must either take away all refuse, uneaten food etc., or dispose of it in receptacles specifically provided for this purpose.
- Motor cars are to be parked in the car park provided by the South West Lakes Trust.
- All craft are to be covered by a comprehensive all risks insurance. Minimum cover £3,000,000.
- All dogs, except assistance dogs, are prohibited from the Club House. They are allowed in the car park provided they are kept on a lead with the owner's car or secured at some location by agreement with the DCM. In any case they should be exercised outside the Club site boundary.
- All sailing on Wimbleball Lake is under the jurisdiction of the club and may take place on any day of the year during the following times:-
WINTER 9.00 am TO SUNSET
SUMMER 9.00 am TO I HOUR BEFORE SUNSET
Subject to the following conditions, and those which may be laid down by the South West Lakes Trust(SWLT) and displayed in the Club House.
- Graded Members may go afloat at any time within the above hours subject to the conditions of their grading.
- A Non-graded Member may only go afloat at times published on the Club notice board. The Committee will be responsible for the grading of Club Members, a list of such to be posted on the Club notice board.
- Except as in By-law 7 (a) no sailing shall take place unless the OOD and safety boat operator are present.
- Adequate personal buoyancy must be worn by ALL persons going afloat. Inflatable buoyancy must be worn inflated.
- All boats must have securely fastened boat buoyancy up to class standards, sufficient to support craft and crew. No boat shall be used which has not been certified by the Committee or a recognised Yacht Authority to be in good condition and equipped with adequate buoyancy. Certificates shall be produced to the Club on demand.
- Any person may he required to leave the Lake area by an authorised Officer of the Club or SWLT who has reasonable grounds to believe that a breach of Club or SWLT rules has taken place or is contemplated, reference should be made to Rule 16.
- Duty Committee Member/Officer of the Day duties.
All Club Members will, as and when called upon to do so, carry out the duties of OOD (and/or assistant), or if a Committee Member, the duties of DCM.
OOD duties are defined in the standing orders for the OOD and published in the fixture list. Failure to carry out the said duties without reasonable excuse will result in the Committee taking such action as they think fit and ultimately to invoke Rule 16 if necessary.
- Storage of auxiliary boat equipment in the Club area is only permitted by permission of the Committee.
- Wet or Dry Suits shall be worn when afloat between the dates of the lst of November and 30th April
- All Club activity shall be subject to the Health and Safety Policy which will be displayed in the Clubhouse and published on the Club website.
